DESCRIPTION OF LIFE SHARD
Lifeshard is a free text/still image based MMORPG. It’s mainly text, but there are adaptive images to enhance the experience. It’s a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), and nearly all characters in the game are real people playing. Even the monsters you face are players that are doing something you or the person who gave you the quest didn’t like. Nothing re-spawns. Lifeshard is meant to be very realistic, and a player or NPC makes all quests and items individually. Once a quest is complete, or an item destroyed, you will never see it again. All items are unique based on the skill and precision of the blacksmith who made it, and all quests unique and actually a player or NPC trying to stop another player from committing mass havoc to the world. If the town’s guards can’t defeat the player who breaks laws, he becomes a bounty head for other players to hunt. Also, your racial stats are permanent. They will never change, although with time and training, you can bring the stats out to their full potential. There are also skills, which users can make that will level up over time. The game is named after the item Lifeshard, which is a shard of a Lifecrystal. Lifeshards maintain life and every soul must have one to inhabit a body (Undead don’t have Lifeshards). Lifeshards also give you Lifeforce Energy that can actually allow you to surpass your stats. Lifeforce energy is the energy that lets people do amazing impossible feats that they shouldn’t be able to do but are because of desperation. But Lifeforce should only be used in desperation, because if you run out, you’re dead. If your Lifeforce of Lifeshard are ever broken, the connection between your soul and body is severed, and you become a spirit (this happens when you die). Spirits will need to get a new Lifeshard to come back, or be risen as Undead. If you ever forge a full Lifecrystal from shards, you become a God/Goddess, with cryptic powers from all that Lifeforce, and the ability to traverse between the physical and spiritual planes. The game is very versatile. You can become a God or Goddess, make entirely new weapons and skills, use different runes to make different spells and even make new stances to fight with. There is a plot to the world that you can follow, or you can make your own plots and quests.
