DESCRIPTION OF REALM OF MAGIC

Explore over 10000 fully detailed rooms by yourself or get an
introduction by a group of dedicated players first.
Slay monsters, cast spells, mix alchemy potions or just rely on
your wits and skills. Go on over 50 scripted quests, accept randomly
generated assignments and take part in one of the many online quests
directed by immortals and mortals alike. Buy customized items with the
godly rewards then or just choose to become stronger yourself.
Recovering from quests and fighting monsters, you can play a game
of poker or darts and use one of the dozens of public or private
channels, exchange equipment and the newest gossip, while listening
to stories spun around creatures and items of legend and mystery.
Resting in favourite places like the temple of Moonglow, you can
socialise with almost two hundred socials or use a free-form extended
emote for making up socials on the spot yourself.
Grouping with players and getting to know them better, you will likely
want to join one of the famous orders, clubs of people sharing common
goals and interests, or use a private channel - just for you and
your friends. You can even get engaged, get married, found a family
and adopt others as children.
If you are ambitious, you can campaign for becoming a venerable
judge or even the Lord of the Realm.
If your blood calls for action, you can join a society which follows
the sport of thrilling duels at any time - without legal interference.
If you are not competitively minded in that sense at all, you will
prefer to call upon the grace of the gods, protecting you from the
harm of others, although limiting your actions.
After a long journey on the mortal road, you may join the immortal
ranks after getting a first taste as mortal builder, questmaster
or advisor, giving input on design and rule questions on a regular basis.
Roleplay is not enforced, though we do require a proper fantasy name for
each character suitable to the theme of the mud. In other words, d00des,
BillClintons, and Supermen will not be approved.
We encourage Roleplay with allowing you to write a description to look
at along with descriptions for details like beard or tattoos.
You can tailor your own clothes and you can have named pets that
will follow you into an inn as well, which will store your equipment
for free, without removing your equipment from their positions like
in many other muds.
Even when leaving the game, you can stay connected, choosing to forward
mud internal mails as emails, subscribing to email versions of boards
or listing yourself on the homepage with icq or aim ids for example.
Of course you can just enjoy the fanpages by other players, giving
you background information like maps.
Finding out secrets yourself, you might be able to join one of few
hidden societies, which require a certain roleplay.
And last but not least a powerful scripting system is implemented,
allowing for fast addition of interactive rooms and riddles,
intriguing mobs and interesting items.
All this and more awaits you in the Realm of Magic - a place of magic
and mystery.
As a very last note for creative players and prospective immortals:
The team spirit is good, fostered by each immortal having
influence on the choice of new members. There is a weekly meeting,
where the important topics of the week are adressed and interested
applicants have a forum to present themselves and are voted upon.
Each new immortal is assigned a tutor as well, explaining rules
guidelines and technical background.
