DESCRIPTION OF 3202:AD

Set in the distant future, the civilizations of the galaxy have colonized space and turned the cosmos into a universal metropolis. After the great galactic war of 2045, the surviving nations combined all of their resources together to explore the depths of space and colonise small moons. The High Council was set up to represent these diverse governments to attempt to bring order to the galaxy in 2565.

Although the High Council consider themselves to be the main power in the galaxy, they are shadowed by the richer, older aristocratic social structure in the galaxy, the Royal Legion. The Royal Legion have been around for quite some time, records show their presence dating back to the 2180's. The king of Sirius Prime was the first planetary monarch to see the potential of wealth to be made from galactic trading and in the early 2180's he decided to expand his empire into the depths of space, colonising and conquering local planets, creating trade stations in orbit of each planet. Many other regal bodies saw how successful this was and followed suit, expanding their kingdoms greatly. This lead to many small disputes amongst the different kingdoms, small battles over ownership rights to systems and a number of short campaigns of terrorism and espionage against rival monarchs. This disruption in the galaxy just seemed to hold back the amassing of wealth, so all of the great leaders decided to form a single aristocratic body to bring order to the current system and increase the wealth for all, allowing the Royal Legion to be born in the late 2180's.

After the High Council set up a network of bases in the late 2560's for trade with other races, the space trade industry became a huge business, so many of the working class people from the planets in the galaxy gave up their regular jobs to join in with the profitable space trading opportunities. As the Royal Legion owned a large monopoly in space trading, the High Council deemed it necessary to impose restrictions on the Royal Legion trade routes to allow smaller traders fairer business opportunities. This outraged the Royal Legion and so they launched a vicious attack on a key High Council outpost. The High Council, thinking they were a superior force, struck back, devastating an entire kingdom. However, the High Council had greatly underestimated the power of the Royal Legion which led to the first superpower intergalactic war, started in 2724. After many centuries of fighting and failed peace negotiations, the two adversaries signed the current peace treaty in 3127. This peace treaty still stands today, although anyone with an ounce of sense knows it is very unstable at the best of times, with both sides constantly spying on each other and undertaking acts of espionage. Since the cold war began, both sides have used regular pilots to do their dirty work, from mercinaries to simple business men to be able to pass the blame away from themselves.

You play a young, upcoming pilot new to the galaxy. You have been left in your grandfather's will, funds of §5000 credits, the deeds to his space station and his trusted ship. This new opportunity has given you the chance to live your life on the frontier. Manage your resources from your space station, buy and sell resources on your market, build factories to produce resources or stock up your ship and travel to other space stations and set up trade routes. Sit back and watch the money roll in, or if that isn't enough, gather your resources and build weapons, shields and even new ships then sell them to other players and become an ships and equipment merchant. You have to research to make many options available to you.

Still want more?? Well fit your ship with the relevant equipment and go and explore planets, mine asteroids even find secret alien bases at the edges of the universe.

Life is far from safe on the frontier though, there are players out there with a bloodthirsty nature who will stock their ship up with weaponry to become pirates of the galaxy. Sounds fun? killing innocent traders then scooping their cargo for yourself, well choose that path if you want, or just fly around kicking butt to become the number one pilot. If you don’t like these pirates, then do something about it and clean up the galaxy, players can place bounties on other players to make killing them more appealing and with the right equipment you can find out who is worth killing for a healthy profit of course. There is just so much to do in the game it is more of a way of life.
