Impossible Creatures is a 3-D real-time strategy game that pits the player against an evil villain in an action-packed campaign across a chain of remote and diverse islands. Using Earth's most formidable animals as building blocks, the player creates an army of unique, mutant monsters in a desperate struggle to protect an unsuspecting world from a horrible fate.

Impossible Creatures has turned the real-time strategy genre 'on its ear' by allowing players to combine more then 50 real-world animals to create a nearly limitless number of mutant creatures. Want a stealthy ranged unit? Combine a chameleon with an electric eel! Want a powerhouse unit that can burrow underground and pop up unexpectedly in the middle of an ambush? Combine a rhino with a lemming! Have you ever seen an elephant fly? You will! Players can then use these, and thousands of other potential creations, to customize armies and strategies, guaranteeing that no two games of Impossible Creatures will ever be the same.

Impossible Creatures is the "RTS for Everyone Else," by providing a quick, fun game that emphasizes strategy over micro-management, rewarding the player for tactics rather than the memorization of technology build orders. With tens of thousands of animal combinations possible, players' strategic sensibilities, analytical abilities and creativity will be tested, and the gameplay is sure to appeal to any RTS fan. Impossible Creatures is a 'Streamlined RTS,' focused on short, faster-paced games with a quick turnaround, allowing players to play several games in the time it would normally take to play a single game in another RTS. Impossible Creatures has a significant story in which the player takes on the role of hero/adventurer Rex Chance as he attempts to thwart the plans of a 1930s super-villain bent on taking over the world. Traveling across a string of islands in the South Pacific, the player will command dozens of creatures and henchmen fighting several mad scientist villains through 15 missions on 12 distinct islands.

Impossible Creatures has a host of multiplayer options. Multiple players are able to engage in unprecedented, streamlined and intense gameplay. Fast and furious multiplayer games focus on action for a wide appeal.

In addition to gameplay enhancements, Impossible Creatures is also positioned to be the de-facto MOD platform for terrain-based 3-D RTS games. The game's open data architecture and development tools allow extensive modifications to be made by end-users.
